What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide built from a fragment of thymosin beta-4, a small protein your dog's own body already produces. Thymosin beta-4 is involved in how cells move around the body, how they communicate with each other, and how tissue organizes itself during repair. TB-500 was developed to mimic a portion of that natural protein's activity.
It is not a drug approved for veterinary use, and it should not be confused with a finished, government-reviewed medication. In our program, TB-500 is treated the same way we treat every other compound: as a tool that may or may not be appropriate for a specific dog, decided by our supervising veterinarian rather than by a general dosing chart.
Why owners ask about TB-500 for dogs
Most conversations about TB-500 start with a specific, practical concern rather than curiosity about peptide science. The situations that come up most often include:

Because TB-500 relates to signaling involved in cell movement and tissue growth, our supervising veterinarian pays particular attention to any dog with a current or past history of cancer, and to dogs with other complicating conditions. In those cases the veterinarian may decide that TB-500 is not appropriate for that individual animal, and that decision is treated as a normal, expected outcome of the review — not an exception to it.
