Born to a South African mother and an Italian father, he developed an early appreciation for discipline, hard work, and perseverance — values that would later define both his military and professional career.
After immigrating to the United States, Jay answered the call to serve by enlisting in the U.S. Army. From 2001 to 2011, he served as a Special Operations Combat Medic, spending a decade on the front lines of some of the world's most demanding environments. His military career provided extensive experience in emergency medicine, human performance, trauma care, and the critical importance of evidence-based decision making under pressure.
Following his military service, Jay continued his education and medical training while studying part-time through the University of Texas system. His passion for science, physiology, and human optimization naturally led him into the rapidly evolving fields of peptide research and advanced research compounds.
